Lead The Walk
Your dog can walk beside you
Not because you are holding on tight. Because they learned how. Samantha Johnson trains dogs in Los Angeles for a living, and this is her method, the same one her clients pay her for.

The part nobody says out loud
Pulling does not stay a walking problem
It starts as an annoyance. Give it a year and it has quietly rearranged what you do with your dog.
Then it happens later. Then some days it does not happen at all, and you tell yourself tomorrow.
Unspent energy has to go somewhere. It goes into the door, the couch, the barking, you.
No trail, no patio, no friend's house. You pick the empty street at the quiet hour, every time.
This was supposed to be the best part of the day for both of you, and now you brace for it.
Every month you leave it, the habit gets older and the dog gets stronger.
Why it has not stuck yet
You are not doing it wrong. You were handed pieces.
Almost every owner who cannot fix pulling has already tried. That is the frustrating part. The problem is not effort.
Advice comes in fragments
A tip here, a video there, each one from a different method that contradicts the last. You end up with twenty pieces and no order to put them in.
Treats buy attention, they do not teach walking
Your dog is brilliant while the food is out and forgets the moment it is gone, because nothing was ever actually taught.
Gear holds the dog, it does not change the dog
The right leash matters, and we sell them. It still only works while you are holding it.
Almost everyone starts in the wrong place
Most owners begin where they want to end up, six feet from the dog on a busy street. That stage comes last, not first, and starting there is why it falls apart.
A method is not a pile of tips. It is the right things in the right order.
What you are actually buying
A dog you can take anywhere
Not a trick, and not one good walk. The point is a dog who has learned how to move with you, and stays that way.
No bracing, no correcting every ten steps. The leash goes slack because your dog chose to stay there.
Longer ones. Different routes. The part of the day you were promised when you got them.
Communication that carries off the leash too, because you built it rather than bought it.
It stays on your phone. Use it again with your next dog, or send it to the friend who needs it.
Working with Samantha
Her clients, in their words
Real quotes from Pack Life LA clients. Every one of them is talking about the same method that is written down in this book.
★★★★★
“Samantha has taken our dog from 100mph runner, down several notches to the point where we feel safe to have him off leash and out of his crate to play with our 2 year old daughter. We have a safer quieter home now.”
★★★★★
“I was unable to take her anywhere, she would bark and growl at everyone. After one session with Samantha magic started to happen. We're now able to go out in public without constant growling and barking.”
★★★★★
“Our loose leash walking has been the foundation of our relationship. Rather than feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, I feel educated and empowered to work her through it.”
★★★★★
“It felt like he had endless triggers that would make him go crazy. In just a couple of sessions with Samantha, he is like a different dog. She makes things really clear and simple for both Calvin and us.”
What it costs
An hour with a trainer ends. This does not.
Book a session and you get an hour, then you are on your own trying to remember what they said. This is the whole method, and it sits in your pocket for every walk after today.
You will not need it twice. But you can open it a hundred times, and it costs less than the leash you are already holding.

Questions
Is this a physical book?
No. It is a digital ebook, so there is nothing to ship and nothing to wait for. You add it to your cart, check out, and it downloads to your phone, tablet or computer. Print it at home if you would rather carry paper on the walk.
How do I get it after I buy?
It arrives with your order confirmation. Open it on the phone in your pocket and you can read it on the walk you are about to take.
Will this work on my dog?
It is built around stages rather than a breed or an age, which is what makes it hold up on a nine week old puppy and on a four year old rescue who has pulled their whole life. The older dog takes longer. Samantha says so in the book instead of pretending otherwise.
My dog is reactive to other dogs. Is this the right thing?
This teaches walking, not reactivity, and the two are connected but not the same. Owners usually find the walking work makes everything else more workable. If your dog is lunging or biting, work with a trainer in person as well.
Do I need to buy anything else?
A long line and a leash you can feel through. Samantha names what she uses and why. We make leashes, so we would say that, which is exactly why she wrote that part and we did not.
